MEATOUT
2004
Around
the world people recognized March 20th as the national Meatout day to
celebrate a meatless diet and encourage others to adopt a healthy and
humane diet.
CHACE hosted its fourth annual Great American
Meatout at the
United Methodist Church on Meridian & 55th St. Saturday, March 20, 2004 from
5:30pm - 7:30pm
Over 200 people attended. The buffet style dinner featured
a variety of vegetarian dishes, including buffalo wings, "chicken"
nuggets, meatless meatballs, spinach pie, hummus, potato fritters, Q-doba
taco bar, and a curry veggie dish. There was also a nice selection of
vegan desserts, including vegan brownies from Georgetown Market, Soy Delicious
ice cream, and vegan cookies from Wild Oats.
